Today I read in the news about some 300 would-be migrants to Europe drowning on a small fishing boat off the Libyan coast. There is hardly anything that depresses me more than reading about people looking for a better life, dying while they pursue this hope and this dream that we in the Western drug-addicted materialist ego-society take for more than granted, and are not even large enough to want to share with anyone else.
Sadly, what happened is "just" what has been happening for many years on EU's southern borders, protected by a feisty sea as the natural wall.
Of course, if we didn't have this natural wall, we would probably build one.
When is Europe going to wake up!?
